Dreambuilders

The Details
Dreambuilders is a program focused on empowering parents and their children to reach their goals. The program is centered around creating family self-sufficiency and a culture of achievement for adults and their children.
Dreambuilders is built on the NCFL (National Center for Families Learning) framework of parent time, child time, PACT (parent and child together) time, and Pathway Coaching.

The curriculum for Dreambuilders is centered around the identified and expressed needs of the participants. Topics have included parent/teacher etiquette, creating/managing a family budget, and how to discuss/manage bullying.

Dreambuilders participants must be Charlottesville City residents and have children attending CCS schools.
THE FORMAT
A Year Long Program
Parent Time
Caregivers receive instruction about a particular topic while the children receive childcare or play in a controlled environment.
P.A.C.T. Time
PACT Time is about sharing quality time with the child(ren) through an activity that reflects what the parent or caregiver learned during parent time.
Pathway Coaching
The child to receives support in school from a designated Pathway Coach, committed to helping them achieve their goals academically, socially, and behaviorally.
Microfinacing
$5,000 of funding to assist
in achieving something otherwise difficult to accomplish.
