Swing Into Spring Concert Benefits City of Promise

Updated: Apr 7

On March 17 at Paramount Theater, the Charlottesville community turned up to not only to listen to some phenomenal musicians, but to support a great cause.

The award-winning Albemarle Jazz Ensemble, along with John D'earth, Charles Owens, Taylor Barnett, Bobby Greg, Greg Thomas, Andrew Randazzo and put on their annual Swing Into Spring Concert, benefitting City of Promise.

"This is a real full circle moment for me," Price Thomas noted, "as my dad Greg Thomas started this concert, I played in the Jazz Ensemble next to Andrew (current director) for all four years at Albemarle High School, and now the proceeds are going toward our family-centered, community-focused work."

Price (thankfully) left the bass playing to the next generation, as he and the rest of the audience enjoyed a fantastic performance from the band. Many thanks to the talented musicians and all who attended the concert and continue to support our work.
