Michael Rhodes joined City of Promise as Community School Coordinator in August 2026.

Michael brings several years of experience working with middle and high school students through the University of Virginia's Center for Community Partnerships, specifically its Starr Hill Pathways program. His background working directly with young people gives him a firsthand understanding of the challenges students and families face, and a clear sense of how the right support and resources can make a lasting difference.

Michael noted, "I'm drawn to this work because I feel I can help. Coming from Starr Hill Pathways, I've seen how much of a difference it makes when students have someone in their corner. I'm looking forward to being that bridge between school, home, and community for the students and families at Johnson Elementary."
